Littlefields Photography Magazine #4: Photographs by James Wigger
As far as we're concerned, James is one of the best portrait photographers working in the United States today. This collection of his early work presents portrait and landscape images made with a variety of films which he processed with bleaching, toning, inverting and encaustic wax. (Today, he works almost exclusively with the collodion wetplate process). Wigger's photography reminds us that in Art, it is necessary to be accepting of the beauty one sees with the soul that is attached to it, with all of the attendant flaws dangling and dripping (and welcoming).
